The new Ghost E-Riot is an e-enduro bike par excellence. The newly developed carbon frame has a dynamic look and, thanks to its streamlined silhouette and two-tone paintwork, is also significantly more consumer-friendly than its predecessor. Since Ghost – the brand belongs to the Accell Group, which also includes Haibike and Lapierre – appeals to the youngest target group in the Accell cosmos, it was almost overdue to bring such a stylish e-mountain bike to market. With 170/160 mm of travel, it particularly appeals to gravity fans and those who like to shred fast over rough trails. The carbon frame, which also features a carbon rear triangle, features Traction Link technology at the rear, with a redesigned lever – Traction Link 2.0. In addition to the long-travel chassis, there are mullet wheels with thick, durable tires and – in three of the four models – powerful 220 mm brake rotors. In terms of weight, the frame has been trimmed to 2.8 kg, bringing the top model down to 23.1 kg (frame size L) – not bad for such an enduro bike with durable, uncompromising equipment and an 800 Wh battery.
Built for the rough.
The new slogan, under which the Ghost E-Riot was developed for 2025, is "Built for the rough." This is something that's easily recognizable even when standing still. Several Ghost athletes helped with the development, as the German bike specialist has two passionate, full-throttle riders on its team, Tomas Slavik and Korbinian Engstler, who know exactly what a bike like this is all about. This directly explains the intended use of the new e-fully from Waldsassen in the Upper Palatinate: With 170/160 mm of travel, it's an ideal enduro bike for any terrain.
- Frame material: carbon
- Bosch CX motor with Kiox 300 display

- Weight 23.1 kg (frame size L, weighed by eMTB-News)
- Max. system weight* 150 kg (manufacturer's information)
- Frame sizes S / M / L / XL
The maximum system weight for a bicycle, e-bike, or e-MTB limits how heavy a rider, including clothing, gear, luggage, and bike (!), can be according to the manufacturer. This value is often lower than expected—especially with e-bikes—and can cause frustration. We address this important metric in our e-MTB tests and new product launches and ask manufacturers if this information is missing.
How this information is determined, who ensures that no one cheats, and what an ASTM class is, you can find out in our detailed article:

Ghost also uses a rear end with Traction Link for the new E-Riot CF, which already worked very sensitively and effectively in the previous model, the E-Riot Trail Pro (tested) . Essentially, this is a VPP rear end. Thanks to a special linkage and adapted kinematics, the rear end has a consistent wheel travel curve, always promises maximum traction, and is said to operate with very little impact on the drivetrain. What's remarkable here is that the combination of the one-piece rocker (rocker arm) and the second lever (also one-piece), which is located close to the bottom bracket on the back of the seat tube, transforms a fixed pivot point into a variable one. For my taste, the current Traction Link rear end was a bit too progressive towards the end, but this should change with the new Traction Link 2.0, as the progression has been adjusted so that the rear end is now less progressive – now 32.6% – and slightly more degressive at the end of its travel. A higher gear ratio makes this possible and simultaneously manages to make the sensitivity and response more delicate at the beginning and increase the counterforce in the mid-travel range. Of course, we'll test whether this has been achieved…
How does Traction Link work?
The system uses special kinematics that make the suspension sensitive and responsive. This means that the suspension is soft at the beginning to improve traction and increase control, but later provides sufficient counter-support and can absorb strong impacts well. This combination of sensitive and stable suspension makes the Ghost Traction Link particularly effective for technical terrain and challenging trails.
Advantages of the Traction Link system:
- Improved traction The rear suspension remains active even when dealing with roots, rocks and small obstacles, providing more grip.
- Stability on hard hits On big landings or fast descents, the suspension becomes more progressive and offers more stability.
- Comfort : The sensitive suspension makes driving over uneven terrain more comfortable, as shocks are better absorbed. Updates

#11 … with revised levers, adjusted ratios and reduced final progression.
Ghost remains loyal to Bosch for the motor system, naturally opting for the new CX motor and pairing the unit with the Bosch PowerTube 800 battery, which has an 800 Wh capacity, in every model. If this capacity isn't enough for you, you unfortunately have no alternative but to a) make do with it or b) carry a second 600 or 800 Wh battery in your backpack, as the Bosch PowerMore Range Extender isn't compatible with this bike. This is due to space constraints in the frame triangle.
geometry
The geometry of the E-Riot, as has been the case with Ghost for several years, is based on SuperFit geometry. SuperFit geometry was conceived and developed to ensure that e-mountain bikes and sporty bikes are perfectly adapted to individual body proportions (arm, leg, torso length, and height) and different riding techniques and styles, and to combine these in the best possible way. The SuperFit geometry concept is based on extensive data analysis and insights into rider ergonomics and aims to optimize the fit and handling of each bike.
In summary, Ghost's SuperFit geometry combines a customized geometry with carefully matched components to offer riders of all sizes a comfortable, efficient, and controlled bike setup. It's all about finding and maintaining the balance between comfort, riding dynamics, and efficiency on any terrain.
Nevertheless, the new Ghost E-Riot CF's SuperFit geometry has undergone a minor update and been given a more modern design. In frame size M, the frame has a reach of 465 mm and a stack of 627 mm, but in frame size L, it has a massive 490/640 mm reach/stack. A quick tip: If you ride a size L with many manufacturers, you're better off choosing the M with the Ghost SuperFit. The head angle is 64°, and the seat angle is a steep 77.5°, which promises excellent climbing ability and stable straight-line stability.

equipment
Ghost offers the E-Riot CF in four different versions. The entry-level model is the E-Riot CF Advanced for €6,999 (RRP). This gets you RockShox suspension , SRAM DB8 brakes with 200mm rotors and NX drivetrain, wheels with WTB rims and Shimano hubs, XLC cockpit parts, and Continental tires. The other three models all use 220mm brake rotors, which is likely to cause a stir, especially on the two top models, the Full Party and LTD , because here Ghost combines the large rotors with massive SRAM Mavens – SRAM's go-to brake. You'll have to try it out to see how it performs on the trail; in any case, SRAM generally recommends choosing a rotor size smaller than normal if you install a Maven. The E-Riot CF LTD starts at €10,000 and leaves little to be desired in terms of spec. It features a RockShox Zeb Ultimate suspension fork, a RockShox Vicid Air shock, SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes, a SRAM GX Eagle transmission, and DT Swiss HXC 1501 wheels with Continental tires. Worthy of note: The tires feature an Enduro Super Soft compound/casing on the front and a Downhill Soft compound/casing on the rear—on every model!
